Mount Meru
3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS MOUNT MERU-PROGRAM
Day 1: Arusha – Momella gate – Miriakamba Hut
In the morning transfer from Arusha to Momella gate where you will be met by the game ranger and porters. The trail starts at Momella Gate. From there it is a relatively gentle three hour ascent to Miriakamba Hut. On your way you pass through well-developed woodland where there is a good chance of seeing large animals such as giraffe.
If you leave Momella early, there will be ample time to explore Meru crater in the afternoon. Lunch enroute, dinner and overnight Miriakamba camp.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut
After breakfast hike up to 11,500 ft to arrive at Saddle Hut. It is three hours to Saddle Hut. You initially pass through forest, where there is a good chance of seeing black and white colobus, and then at about 3,000m you will enter a moorland zone similar to that on Kilimanjaro. If time permits you can climb a little further on Mount Meru for a scenic view of the ‘Roof of Africa’, Mount Kilimanjaro. This will also be part of more acclimatization. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.
Day 3: Saddle Hut – Summit – Arusha.
Saddle Hut – Summit: 4-6 hours
You will need an early rise to hike all the way to the summit before the afternoon clouds cover the summit. From the summit Descend to the park gate and then transfer to Arusha for overnight.

-Food 3 meals (All meals are hot)
-Water 4 liter per person per day while on the mountain.
-Professional and Experience Mountain Guide who have qualified in wilderness first aid responder (WFR)

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut – ArushaIn the morning have breakfast at the camp and a leisurely morning. Descend to the park gate and then transfer to Arusha for overnight.
